Everyone is single on social media unless it is a couple that slays together or is public with their relationship. It can be hard to tell who is single and who is not on the internet and you simply have to trust strangers to be honest.

Social media also encourages unhealthy and sometimes false narratives about love and relationships. These narratives can dictate people's views on relationships and love making them cynical. Being influenced by these narratives can create hard attitudes towards love and relationships making everyone afraid of them.

If your search for love crosses borders, you may experience some difficulty due to certain laws that are important for the state but whose implications run deep in individual life. The recent passing of the anti-homosexuality bill has created tension between the United States and Uganda prompting a warning advisory for tourists and travellers coming to Uganda.

Not to mention the impact of such laws on livelihoods such as tourism-based businesses and workers.

Many youths looking to unshackle themselves from the strains of financial challenges have found refuge overseas. Years of being away from home can make it hard to find love, not to mention straining already existing relationships. Stories of betrayal and theft plague the 'Kyeeyo' lot some of who swear off love and stick to "eating their money".

Being an influencer through content creation is a great way of earning some money or extra cash. This lifestyle, however, comes with attention not to mention how personal it can get. Although not celebrities in most cases, influencers need to uphold a certain public image that can make the search for love difficult for them and those who pursue them.

The income inequality coupled with the "terminal" unemployment problem among the youth has caused problems on so many levels in the search for love. It is a tough time to find love, weather bad financial or social times together and come out on the other side with a healthy relationship, among other challenges.
