Natasha Nyonyozi lays out post-Miss World plans, keen on starting family 

The 23-year-old followed well in the footsteps of her Ugandan predecessors at the world stage, finishing among the top ten African contestants.

Reigning Miss Uganda Natasha Nyonyozi is walking tall following her glowing performance at the recently concluded Miss World pageant in India.

Nyonyozi spoke out on Tuesday about her achievements from the contest, lessons learned, and plans thereafter.

The 23-year-old followed well in the footsteps of her Ugandan predecessors at the world stage, finishing among the top ten African contestants.

She was also crowned winner of Beauty With a Purpose (BWAP) for Africa, and came third in the “Miss Porpolarity” contest.

Contest accomplishments

Speaking about her experience there, Nyonyozi said she was pleased with the connections and friendships she made in India, which she hopes will be key in her future endeavours.

“Now I know that if I ever travel to places like America or Indonesia. I have friends there that I can contact. That is one of the biggest goals for the contest; they always want to see the growth of that kind of sisterhood,” she told Bukedde TV.

Future plans 

On what lies ahead, Nyonyozi says she intends to carry on with her “Nyonyozi Initiative,” a project she started before joining the pageant.

“Nyonyozi Initiative is related to my Miss World BWAP project, and is all about children with autism. I want to create more autism awareness and acceptance,” she said.

“I have written a book titled Colours of the Spectrum, which is also about autism and entails stories of parents with autistic children, counsellors, caregivers, among others. I want to build on that.”

The beauty queen, on the other hand, says she is keen on starting her own family. 

“Having children is in the plans, of course,” she said. “I want to get married and have my babies.”

She said, however, that she has no time frame yet for starting a family, adding, “I don’t want to rush it.
