Promise introduces Rickman to her mother

Promise Ateete introduced Rickman Manrick to her mother after defeating his rival, Grenade Official, in a boxing match on Thursday, December 26.

“Mummy... here’s your son-in-law, there he is, there he is... you see him?” exclaimed an excited Ateete during a video call with her mother. “Champion! Champiiiiiiiiiiiiiooooooooon! Mummy, are you seeing him?”

Ateete is the first girlfriend to go public with Rickman since his breakup with Sheilah Gashumba in May. Gashumba announced their split in a statement shared on social media on 11th May:

“Dear friends and supporters, after much reflection and thoughtful consideration, Rickman Manrick and I have mutually decided to part ways. While this decision may come as a shock to some of you, we would like to assure you that it was reached with respect and understanding for each other's paths. Our relationship has been a journey filled with love, laughter, and growth, and we are immensely grateful for the experiences we shared together,” she wrote.

“As I navigate this new chapter of my life, I would like to emphasize that I am single and not actively seeking a new relationship at the moment. My focus now is personal growth, career aspirations, and nurturing the friendships and connections that mean so much to me. I appreciate the understanding and support of our fans and followers during this time of transition. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter in our lives.”

Rickman recently revealed that he remains on speaking terms with Sheilah Gashumba.

Promise Ateete, also known as Gatete, is said to have been friends with Rickman even during his relationship with Sheilah. She first came into the spotlight when she was arrested alongside Don Nasser. The two were recently released on bail.

The fight between Rickman and Grenade was held at the UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo, Kampala.
