Eddy Kenzo and his baby mama Rema Namakula are among the singers that will entertain guests on June 1 as the businessman, whose real name is Hamis Kiggundu, opens the historical stadium.

On that day, the stadium will host test matches in football, basketball, boxing, and kickboxing.

On the football side, URA FC will play against Kitara FC and Express FC will face off with SC Villa.

Umaru Semata will fight Moses Golola in a kickboxing match, while basketball lovers will watch KIU Titans play JT Jaguars and Nam Blazer will face off with UCU Canon.

Other artistes that will perform at the grand opening of Nakivubo Stadium are Jose Chameleone, Pia Pounds, Sheebah Karungi, Bebe Cool, Madrat, and Chicko.

The multi-purpose arena boasts a state-of-the-art design thanks to the innovation and investment of Ham Kiggundu.

At the event to commission the stadium on April 25, President Yoweri Museveni was quick to praise Ham Kiggundu for his forward-thinking approach.

“Kiggundu is a young man who emerged as the NRM came to power, and he truly embodies the NRM spirit through his innovation and drive for prosperity in Uganda,” Museveni said, acknowledging Kiggundu's role in breathing new life into the stadium.

Museveni shared his enthusiasm for the tycoon's 'can-do' attitude.

“I thank Kiggundu because he has shown that 'yes we can' attitude not only here but in other projects as well," he said.

"He came up with a solid plan, and being a bush warfighter, I got it right away. We don’t waste time; a slow decision can be fatal.”

Nakivubo Stadium is also known as Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds.
