I want my grandkids - Mowzey Radio’s dad
George Kateeba Asiimwe was one of the men who came out following the tragic passing of the Goodlyf Crew singer in 2018, to claim his paternity.
Speaking this Thursday morning on the 6th anniversary of Radio’s death, Asiimwe said having been kept out of his child’s life until his death, he wished to be allowed at least to meet his grandchildren.
“I was never in my son’s life….I never even got to bury him because Jane, (Radio’s mother) deployed the military at the funeral. If I had gone there I would be in prison today,” he said.
“What I want is to meet my grandchildren…I want to be able to take them to their ancestral place in Fort Portal so they can meet their family.”
He added, “I don’t want to take them away, I just want them to meet their cousins and know where they come from.”
Asiimwe says he has already initiated contact with Lilian Mbabazi, the mother of Radio’s children, but that the two have yet to meet in person.
“I called Mbabazi some time back and she said she was going to call me back,” he said.
Asiimwe, who works as a commuter taxi driver, says he has a total of 12 children sired from different mothers.
He claims to have met Jane Kasubo when she was staying at a hotel he was working in, in Fort Portal.
The late Radio was raised by her Aunt Sylvia Nakinjitte, who recalls that the singer did not like discussing his paternity throughout his life, which left unanswered questions on who his real father was.
