He completed the engineering studies in 1997 and someone who had spotted his talent told him he can showcase his talent at Texas Pub which was Park View Complex on Luwum Street in Kampala. Lots of artistes used to hang out and perform there.

While there, he secured an emceeing gig at Ecstacy Bar in Banda where he met Sweet Kid and Jose Chameleone.

He then landed another one at Jenina Club in Nansana where he met Paddy Bitama and Eddy Kigere with whom they would team up, among others, to form Amarula Family.

At Jenina, they conceived the idea of doing Karaoke and this also helped them provide a platform for scouting new talent. In the process, they introduced comedy.

Amooti later secured an emceeing job at Club Silk where one night he was given a bottle of Amarula. He came with it to Jenina to show off and found Bitama with a smaller botte. The name Amarula Family popped into Amooti’s mind. Some of the other comedians they started with are Kapere, Kerekere and Big Punisher (woman).

he said he was inspired by Danthan Mubiru who used to act with a goat on stage

Amooti’s first radio job was with Radio Simba.
