Shamim Nambassa, former Guild President of Makerere University, sparked a wave of online debate after she called Balaam Barugahara, the State Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, a "certified bootylicker."
The incident began over the weekend when a blog shared a photo of Balaam with the caption: "What do you know about Hon. Dr. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi?"
Nambassa, a pharmacist by profession, replied to the post with her now-viral comment.
Balaam Barugahara hit back at Nambassa with a sharp reply: "Madam Guild President kiki? Banange another student ready for enrollenment in our academy!!"
Realising the possible fallout from her words, Nambassa took a screenshot of the exchange and shared it on her X account.
