Ugandan singer Lydia Jazmine is slapping fresh charges against fellow artist Dan Flavour following recent allegations he made against her.
The dispute revolves around a property in Munyonyo, which has since become a public scandal.
The conflict traces back to when Dan Flavour returned to Uganda after spending time abroad.
He claims he used his savings to rent a house in Munyonyo from a Ugandan based in Norway named Regan.
Dan’s plan was to turn the property into an Airbnb rental, and he rented the house at Shs 1.5 million per month.
He says he spent Shs 3 million renovating it, and even used the yard to keep domestic animals.

Later, Lydia Jazmine approached Regan seeking a house to rent, and the parties agreed on a new rental rate of Shs 2.5 million monthly.
However, Lydia soon posted pictures from inside the house featuring her family, which many perceived as her having bought the house outright.
This alarmed Regan, the actual owner, who was concerned that Dan might have sold the house without permission.
Matters escalated when Lydia accused Dan Flavour of defrauding her by selling the house under false pretences. She filed a case against him for “obtaining money by false pretence.”
This resulted in Dan’s arrest and detention at Kabalagala Police Station. He was later released through the intervention of a senior police officer who is a friend.
Lydia Jazmine responds
In a detailed interview, Lydia shed light on her side of the story. She stated that Dan had initially led them to believe the house belonged to him, citing the presence of domestic animals and his family photos inside.
Trusting this information, Lydia paid Dan Shs 15 million as a down payment, followed by another Shs 3 million shortly after.
She began renovating the house herself because she loved it and wanted to settle there. She even invited her mother and sister to visit and stay in the house.
The situation took a turn when Regan contacted Lydia directly and revealed that the property was not for sale and that Dan had no authority to sell it.
Regan insisted that Lydia continue paying rent to him and advised her to get her money back from Dan. Lydia explained that when confronted, Dan disappeared, forcing the authorities to get involved and eventually arrest him.
Lydia recalled visiting Dan in police custody, where she saw him in poor condition. She decided not to continue pursuing the case, believing he could not repay her. “I stopped pursuing the case, and they released him,” she said.
Despite the dispute originating in 2022, Dan Flavour recently made public claims accusing Lydia of fabricating the story to get him jailed, which sparked renewed tensions. Lydia responded by hiring lawyers and signalling plans to file fresh charges against Dan.
“Since yesterday, we have been looking for him, but he has switched off all his phones,” Lydia stated. “I want him to come and say those words to my face. Now that he’s taken that route, I have contacted my lawyers. He can run; he can’t hide forever.”
