While addressing the team at their training base, Magogo noted that the tournament is an opportunity for the players to prove what they can do for those who believe in them.

“You have people who believe in you. Imagine them watching you do wonders for this country. We are going for war, we are not going for a picnic, we are not going for a visit”, he said.

The Uganda Cranes are scheduled to fly to Tunisia today for a series of friendlies to fine tune the players. At least three build-up matches have been slated ahead of the tournament.

Head coach Milutin Sredojevic has since trimmed his squad to 25 players.

Uganda is in Group B alongside Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal and Ivory Coast.
