We have been dating for 4 months – Tanzanian singer opens up on relationship with Jaguar

Tanzanian song bird Lulu Abbas popularly known as Lulu Diva has for the first time opened up on dating Starehe MP Charles Kanyi a.k.a Jaguar.

Speaking to a Tanzanian local daily, Diva said that it is true the two are a couple and that they have been dating for the past four months and they have decided to make it public.

“Wala siyo ghafla kama watu wanavyodhani. Tulianza kama miezi mine nyuma na sasa tumeamua kuweka wazi,” said the Ona singer.

She also stated that she decided to date Jaguar who is a Kenyan because her other relationships in Tanzania did not last long.

Ms Diva disclosed that the two are currently in Dubai for holiday and after their return, they will visit the Starehe MP’s parents.

“Ni kula bata tu, baadae tutakwenda zetu Nairobi nyumbani kwa wakwe,” she said.

It is also reported that before the two started dating, Jaguar was Lulu Diva’s manager, whenever she was in Kenya for a show.

Defending Jaguar

In June, Lulu who was in Kenya for her media tour strongly defended her new bae (Jaguar) over his xenophobic remarks, which went viral.

Speaking to Standard, Diva said that Jaguar was only putting the interests of his people first and it was something that happens everywhere. She also noted that Dar es Salaam’s Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda is fond of making similar utterances.

“He is speaking for his people. He wants his people to have the priority that is being given to others. In fact, that’s the true work of a politician,” the Standard quoted Diva.

Rich Mavoko

Before she began dating Jaguar, Lulu Diva was rumoured to be dating former WCB singer Rich Mavoko, a claim she has vehemently denied over time.

Mavoko also said that they were only friends.
