UMA suspends Phina Mugerwa, Halima Namakula and Isaac Rucci

The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) committee has suspended artists and association members; Phina Mugerwa, Halima Namakula and Isaac Rucci from the committee for some time.

Last week, audio notes of Phina Mugerwa and Halima Namakula circulated all over social media and in these, verbal exchange of words and insults were heard which don’t portray a good picture of artists leaders.

The Uganda Musicians Association board put out a letter on Monday 6th saying the trio has been suspended till further notice over their character and behaviour. According to the letter, the suspension for the trio takes immediate effect and warns the public not to deal with the three individuals on matters concerning the association and if they do, they do it on their own.

According to inside circles, the exchange of words in a very disrespectful manner comes from disagreements about E-concert money that was earlier allocated by the government for artists performances during the festive season.

Rucci comes in the only female fight because he was top of the organizers that ran the Ug Connect concert that used to happen on NBS Tv and online platforms.

It should be noted that UMA has been getting a number of criticism from both the public and fellow musicians over incompetence and greed for money.
