Uganda's president promotes son to the 2nd highest rank in the army

President and Commander in Chief of the army Kaguta Museveni has promoted his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba to the rank of Lieutenant General, the second highest rank in the army.

The elevation is part of the 2,031 confirmed UPDF personnel promotions to various ranks.

Muhoozi, Museveni's eldest son, has risen rapidly within the army and has been at the rank of Major General.

In 2017, his father appointed him his special presidential advisor.
