Ugandan musician interviews over 50 women at once to choose suitable wife
A Ugandan musician appeared on a local TV show called "Abanonnya" which is dedicated to single persons searching for partners -- and now everything feels like the Ugandan version of The Bachelor.
Vincent Segawa appeared on the show announcing that he is searching for a woman to marry after his sudden break up with his longtime girlfriend over religion.
The musician shared contact with the viewers and what happened was beyond his expectations.
He received hundreds of calls from several women and got overwhelmed. He said he was tired of talking over the phone.
The "interview" meet up
Segawa made appointments with the women whom he managed to talk to.
Over 50 women showed up for the date (appointment or interview) at a hotel in Nansana, Wakiso District.
Unknowingly, each woman thought she was individually meeting the musician -- to their surprise -- he met all of them at once in a conference room.
Segawa started reading out details of the qualities he wants in a woman. He advised those without the qualities he wants to excuse themselves as he continues with the "interviews".
Final auditions?
Segawa is expected to meet a group of the few women who made it through the first round of the "interviews" next week.
The process will go on until he finds a suitable partner to marry.
He told the women to come with a national ID for verification because "they like faking and lying about their age".
