The UNEB executive secretary, Daniel Odongo, while releasing the results at the Office of Prime Minister on Friday, 3 March 2023 revealed that females had performed better than their male counterparts.

Odongo told the media female candidates outperformed their male counterparts when it comes to those who passed with both 3 and 2 principle passes.

"The female candidate who passed with 3 principle passes were 48.6% compared to males who were 40.1%,” he said.

Odongo added: “At 2 principle passes level and above, the females were 75% compared to males who were 67%.”

He said girls managed to outshine their male counterpart despite of the fact that female candidates were less than the males.

"Although the number of female candidates were less, the numbers of those who passed were far much more than those of males,” Odongo emphasised.
