This edition of the online concert will celebrate the 21 musicians who won big during the recently concluded Janzi Awards.
The concert will be happening today from 4pm to 7pm and from 10pm till late night and will be broadcast live on television. The concert is looking at creating a platform for these artistes to perform and showcase their works to their fans and followers online, since the entertainment industry is still under lockdown and events are still restricted due to the coronavirus. The event will feature artistes like Liam Voice, who won the Outstanding Artiste of the Year Award, Pallaso, who emerged Male Artiste of the Year, Pia Pounds, whose song, won the Outstanding Video and Song of the Year Awards, Feffe Bussi, Zex Bilangilangi, Kenneth Mugabi and many others.
Isaac Rucci, a member of the Uganda Musicians Committee says the e-concert is themed “UG Hope concert” because currently, what artistes are left with is hope as they wait for full re-opening of the economy in January.
He also adds that the show looks at spreading hope to Ugandans at large through music, dance and drama during the festive season.
