We regret to inform you that the burial of the late Hon. Lady Justice Stella Arach-Amoko, Justice of the Supreme Court, will not take place as scheduled on Friday, June 23, 2023, due to circumstances beyond our control. A portion of the communication states that new dates will be announced in due course,” a statement from the Registrar’s office reads.

The Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice, Principal Judge, Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, and Secretary, Office of the President have all received copies of the letter.

Some of Lady Justice Amoko's relatives, including some of her biological sisters, brothers, and children, have filed a petition with the High Court's Family Division asking for an order relocating their relative's burial site from Adjumani to Nebbi.

The petition requests that the ashes of the late Lady Justice Mary Stella Arach Amoko be interred in Juba Village, Jukia Hill Ward, Nebbi Municipality, Nebbi District, in accordance with her oral wishes expressed through her siblings Godfrey Picho, Christine Onyok Oling, and Nancy Okwong before she passed away.

All of the applicants (her children too) want her to be buried at her ancestral house in Nebbi Municipality as she requested when she passed away, according to Annette Yossa's affidavit, which was signed by one of the deceased's biological children.
