Former vice president Professor Gilbert Bukenya and businessman Dr Sudhir Ruparelia are among 118 people assigned Patriotic Officer (PO) numbers by the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).
PLU General Secretary Fadil Twalla announced the appointments in a statement released on Friday, September 11, 2026.
Prof Bukenya was assigned PO/300, while Dr Ruparelia received PO/198. City businessman Godfrey Kirumira was assigned PO/199.
The list includes government officials, lawmakers, business leaders, professionals and other public figures.
Among those appointed are ministers Amos Lugoloobi, Sarah Nakawuki, Musa Ecweru and Faith Mercy Lakisa.
