Nyanzi's lawyer told Buganda Road Court that there were no instructions to apply for bail.

Early this month, the controversial professor declined to apply for bail arguing that President Kaguta Museveni should be summoned in court as a witness.

She was charged with cyber harassment and offensive communication for allegedly insulting Museveni's late mother on social media.

The Makerere University professor was arrested early this month by security operatives.

Last year, Nyanzi called Museveni "a pair of buttocks" on social media.
