She faces charges of cyber harassment and offensive communication contrary to the Computer Misuse Act, 2011.

Nyanzi appeared in court on Wednesday for the first time since her arrest on November 2nd.

Today she is expected at Buganda Road Magistrate Court for plea taking before the trial magistrate.

The vocal and popular critic of Museveni's government has been detention beyond the constitutional 48 hours.

Earlier this week, activists, including Robert Kyagulanyi, demanded for her unconditional release saying her continued detention violates her rights.

Last year, Nyanzi was arrested and detained for calling Museveni "a pair of buttocks" on social media.
