The 27-year-old talented songstress was asked by the women from Salama, in Makindye Division to consider contesting for parliament in the 2026 elections.
The single women whom Diana has been taking care of since the COVID-19 pandemic said it would be a blessing for all the women in Kampala to have a representative like her.
“If only God could help us and you become our parliamentary representative as women,” one of the ladies said, which seemed to catch the singer by surprise.
“I couldn’t,” she responded instantly.
“The things I am doing are stressful enough for me, I couldn't add more to it.”
The women tried to press on, pleading that the Sili Regular singer at least consider a smaller leadership position.
“Maybe you could be our councilor,” another one chimed in, but Diana was adamant, telling them that she was not ready at the moment to get into politics.
“Leadership is not easy,” she said,
“It is very complicated, especially here in Uganda…I think I would have a headache every day.”
“Besides, you can be a leader wherever you are, even if you are not appointed or elected; it is a calling…like you see how people become pastors.”
Diana donated food items to the women, which she said she purchased on her way from western Uganda over the weekend.
The women praised her for her generosity and invited her to spare time and come to their local church for prayers.
She promised to come when time allows.
