Speaker Kadaga asks Tourism Ministry to offer Miss Uganda a contract of employment
Ugandan MPs have urged Ministry of Tourism to officer Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo a contract of employment.
Several proposals, including declaring the beauty queen a national hero, came up during Wednesday's plenary session.
MPs, led by Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, tasked State Minister for Tourism Kiwanda Godfrey to draft a proposal to offer her a contract for employment if they are to work with her.
Earlier, the minister had told Parliament his ministry will work with Abenakyo and will facilitate her in the activities.
Abenakyo become a household icon when she represented Uganda at the Miss World beauty pageant in China where she was crowned Miss World Africa.
Also, Gulu Municipality MP Lyandro Komakech moved a proposal to declare Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo a national hero after he historic stint at Miss World.
