Sheema student killed by truck after getting S4 results

Abela Amutisimire, a recent top performer in the UCE examinations released last week, tragically lost her life.

The 17-year-old was a student of Kibinga Girls School.

She was involved in the accident while on her way back from her school, where she had gone to collect her Senior Five admission letter.

Amutisimire resided with her father, Rev Elsam Bishanga of the Kyamuhunga Church of Uganda under West Ankore Diocese.

She had achieved a First Division, scoring 32 aggregates in her recent exams, and was poised to study Geography, Entrepreneurship, and Agriculture in S5.

SP Martial Tumusiime, the local police spokesperson, reported that the fatal incident took place on Monday in the township of Rwentuuha.

He detailed that Amutusimire was hit by a Sino-truck while on a bodaboda, attempting to avoid it. However, she tragically fell and was run over by the truck, leading to immediate fatality.

Clinton Niwetwesiga, who was driving the motorcycle and is the brother of Amutusimire, sustained severe injuries and has been hospitalized.
