NTV nips UBC’s Shamim Nayiga to replace Nakazibwe
But the station is this week on the taking side, as they just snatched UBC TV news anchor Shamim Nayiga.
Nayiga is coming in to fill the void left by Faridah Nakazibwe, who left the station in October last year.
First Day
Nayiga had her first day at work on Monday, March 4th, flawlessly delivering the evening Luganda news “NTV Akawungeezi”
The Kampala Serena-based station announced the arrival of Nayiga, touting her vast experience and passion for journalism.
“Shamim brings a fresh perspective and unwavering dedication to our Luganda news desk. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome to the team,” they posted.
UBC Speaks
UBC TV’s Deputy Managing Director Maurice Mugisha congratulated Nayiga on her move, highlighting the role that the national broadcaster played in shaping her career.
“We are proud to attract and train the best in the industry at UBC Uganda. we celebrate your wins and wish you all the best on your new assignment,” he wrote.
Mugisha himself is a former news anchor at NTV Uganda.
Nayiga was also warmly welcomed by her new colleagues at NTV including anchors Andrew Kyamagero and Sandrah Nakiwala.
