Several injured after an angry mob in Arua set KK bus on fire in 'protest'
An angry mob in the northern district of Arua set a passenger bus on fire in protest for allegedly knocking dead their colleague.
"This is to notify you of the unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday night, the 15/11/2018, at about 10:30 pm, at Enzeva, about 10 miles from Arua town involving our bus number UAU 549P travelling from Koboko To Kampala which was burnt to ashes by the angry mob due to some unexplained circumstances," KK Travellers said on social media.
Several passengers were injured during the incident and are receiving treatment.
KK Traveller said on Friday that they are closely working with authorities to "determine the exact sequence of events".
"We are a community-owned company and we realize words can not begin to express our sorrow to the families of those who were injured in this tragic accident."
The regional police spokesperson told local media that investigations have started and no arrests have been made.
