Security officers honoured with medals during Labour Day celebrations
The seven police officers that were received medals in an event presided over by President Yoweri Museveni are AIGP Godfrey Golooba (the Director of Human Resource Development and Training) who was awarded the Exemplary Service Order Second Class Medal and Aggrey Wunyi (Police Under Secretary) who received the Diamond Jubilee Medal.
SCP Christopher Kasalawo and CP Allison Agaba from the Directorate of Interpol and International Relations were honored with the Long Service Medal for their 30 years plus of exemplary service.
ASP Charles Muhereza was awarded the Meritorious Medal for his exceptional contributions, while PC AKot Catherine received the Personal Sacrifice Medal.
During International Labour Day celebrations, OP Elly Muhoozi was recognised with the Gallantry Star Medal for his bravery and courage in the line of duty.
The President also awarded Diamond Jubilee Medals to five officers of Uganda Prisons Service (UPS), honoring their exceptional service and loyalty to our sovereign nation.
Patricia Nyachwo, the assistant commissioner in charge of accounts at UPS, was awarded for dedication, expertise and compassion, having made a lasting impact on the Uganda Public Service and Uganda Prisons.
Wilfred Falla Anyaku, a principal officer and expert driver -- was awarded for his 35 years of dedicated service, including 13 years driving the CGP, which has ensured safe and reliable transportation.
During International Labour Day celebrations, Paul Muyanja, an assistant commissioner from Internal Audit - was recognised for his outstanding contributions to Uganda Prisons.
Other awardees are Millian Acen (Principal Officer II) and Elly Mutegeki Byaruhanga (retired senior pharmacist).
