Eye witnesses revealed that the freak accident occurred at around 10 PM on Saturday night when the speeding matatu lost control and ran over unsuspecting pedestrians.

Emergency rescue teams rushed to the site to ferry the injured to hospital.

Unconfirmed reports placed the number of those killed at 2 with several casualties.

The driver of the bus is reported to have fled the scene escaping arrest.
