Authorities have confirmed holding in custody 3 students and a school warden to help with the investigations.

Reports say the suspected arsonists first padlocked the boys' dormitory which houses about 50 students before setting it ablaze at St. Bernard Secondary School.

Survivors told local media that the fire started at midnight, spreading through the dormitory.

The students had trouble fleeing the dormitory after suspected arsonists locked the facility.

Arsonists reportedly poured petrol through the windows.
