Presidential advisor, John Nagenda is dead

“I regret to announce the death of Senior presidential Advisor on media, Mzee John Nagend, who has passed on at Medipal Hospital in Kampala,” Babalanda tweeted.

Babalanda remembered Nagenda a unique, principled and knowledgeable person whose service to the nation will be dearly missed.

Details about his death are still scanty.

According to his Wikipedia page, John Nagenda was born on 25 April 1938. He was a Ruanda-Urundia born Ugandan cricketerwho played one One Day international in the 1975 World Cup for East Africa.

He appeared in one first-class cricketer match in England in 1975, and played cricket for Uganda. As a writer of fiction and poetry in the 1960s, he is regarded as having been one of the pioneers of writing in East Africa.

His book One Man's Week: Unreserved Wisdom was published in 2019.
