President Museveni meets Kabaka, discuss Buganda kingdom's property and financial arrears
Uganda's President Kaguta Museveni paid a courtesy visit to Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi on Tuesday at his palace in Banda, Wakiso District.
The country's most powerful pair held a 'cordial meeting' to discuss issues involving the Buganda Kingdom.
The president said in a tweet that: "We held a cordial meeting where we agreed that all pending issues involving the kingdom's property, land and financial arrears be resolved soonest."
"I thank the Kabaka for the hospitality extended to my entourage and myself."
This is the first time the two leaders have officially met since 2017 when the president hosted the Kabaka who was accompanied by a 4-man delegation that included Prince Wasajja and Katikiro Peter Mayiga.
The group discussed pertinent and strategic issues on development and national interest.
In 2015, the Ugandan government returned over 80 land titles that were tumultuously taken from the Buganda Kingdom.
