Police file of Shumuk boss accused of fraud is reportedly missing
The police file of Shumuk boss Shukla Babubhai Mukesh is reportedly missing.
Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court heard from the state prosecutor on Tuesday, Daily Monitor says.
Miriam Njuki told the court while responding on how far the police had gone with inquiries into the charges against the city businessman.
Mukesh was last week charged with 13 counts ranging from forgery, uttering false documents and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Case adjourned to December
Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court adjourned the case to December 14.
The adjournment will allow the prosecution to present the 'missing file' as ordered by the trial magistrate.
Forgery
Last week on Thursday, prosecution contended that Mukesh and other forged a letter for the official handover of Hotel Diplomate which belonged to the late Consular of the Pakistan Islamic Republic in Uganda Bonny Katatumba.
He also allegedly forged signatures of Katatumba's relatives including Anne Grace Katatumba, Angella Katatumba, Rugirwa Katatumba and Ian Katatumba
