Museveni must be out by ballot or bullet - Kenyan MP Babu Owino

Kenyan MP Babu Owino on Sunday said on Sunday Uganda's longest serving President Kaguta Museveni "must be out by ballot or bullet".

The outspoken Embakasi East legislator, a close friend to Bobi Wine, Uganda's new face of opposition who has revealed intentions to vie against Museveni in 2021, posted on social media while expressing support for Wine.

"Bobi Wine for president," a post on Facebook read.

Wine, also known as Robert Kyagulanyi, is a musician who turned MP for Kyadondo East in 2017.

While speaking to CNN last week, Wine, 36, said he is considering running for president in 2021.

"...Overwhelming Museveni looks like our own way out...many people have come to me asking me to stand (for president). We have been discussing this issue. I and my team are considering challenging Museveni in the next presidential election."

Last year, Babu Owino invited Wine to Kenya, weeks after returning from the US where he underwent specialised treatment for injuries he says he sustained during detention.
