"On the 8th, the suspect returned to the deceased without the motorcycle, claiming that he parked it in a parking lot in Kisaasi and also informing the deceased that his wife was not present with the keys to the place where he stayed," he said.

He added, "He asked me to stay the night at his house. A scuffle ensued between the two at night, and the suspect most likely intended to return and kill the owner of the motorcycle."

According to Oweyeisigire, while Hakhim is still on the run, one other suspect is in police custody, and the deceased's body, which had serious slashes all over his chest, is in the city mortuary.

As investigations continue, police have recovered a knife believed to have been used by the lead suspect to kill Kapalaga.
