Nadduli said over the weekend that he fears for Uganda if the First Son is indeed being prepared to replace his father as President and commander-in-chief.
“A person who is run the country must be trained,” Nadduli said.
“But a person who even threatened to attack Kenya, do you think that is a small problem? Why would he say something like that, when the likes of Katumba (Wamala) and others who fought in wars have never said anything that reckless?”
Nadduli, who fought in the 1980s war that brought the NRM government to power has been estranged from the government over the recent years, after he was ousted from Cabinet where he served as Minister without portfolio and NRM Vice Chairman for Central Uganda.
The arrest of his son Jakana Nadduli and his suspicious death in 2022 worsened his ties with the sitting government.
Speaking in the wake of Gen Muhoozi’s recent mega rally in Masaka, Nadduli stressed that President Museveni still lacks proper training before he can take on leadership.
“He needs to be groomed, not rushed,” he said.
Nadduli also faulted President Museveni for “prioritizing his family” in this way, which he said is against the “real bush-war NRM spirit.”
