MTN Uganda has reiterated its continued commitment to 'operating within and respecting the laws of the country' after government deported two top employees.

The company's Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Prentout and Head of Sales and Distribution Annie Bilenge Tabura were arrested and deported by security agencies, according to a statement issued by police on Tuesday.

Police on Tuesday said the pair engaged in acts that compromise national security.

Authorities stated that they were using their employment as tools to achieve their ill motives -- and that their plans have been disrupted.
