This comes moments after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji approved charges against the NLC boss on the Standard Gauge Railway land compensation, alongside six others.

Reports reaching Pulselive.co.ke indicate that Dr. Swazuri has been arrested together with Kenya Railway Corporation (KRC) Managing Director Atanas Maina by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission detectives.

The two have been arrested with five others and will spend the weekend behind bars as they wait to be arraigned in Court on Monday.

“The DPP has consented to charges against National Land Commission (NLC) Chair Dr Swazuri and others in relation to compensation,” read a tweet from the DPP’s office.
