Man kills own son because of over crying

Residents of Odur Village in Amuru District were left in shock when a one-year-old baby was allegedly killed by his father for over crying.

The man allegedly hit his son on the ground several times before succumbing to injuries, privately-owned newspaper Daily Monitor reports.

The baby's mother was harvesting potatoes when the unfortunate incident happened.

Local authorities said children who were playing with the toddler looked on helplessly.

The man was later arrested after fleeing the crime scene and taken to Alero Police Post in the neighbouring Nwoya District.
