According to the police, Makori, a casual laborer in Nairobi arrived home and found his wife, Moraa, preparing dinner.

In a report by SDE, Makori is said to have peeked into the pot and realized Moraa was preparing sukuma wiki instead of traditional vegetables.

Children

In a fit of rage he reportedly lashed out at his children for buying the kales. He then proceeded to whip the children, picked the sufuria and poured the vegetables on the floor.

He then allegedly picked the burning stove and threw on Moraa’s face leaving her with serious injuries.

Bond

Her wails for help attracted neighbours who rushed her to a nearby clinic and was later transferred to Kenyatta National hospital for further treatment.

Makori was apprehended and arraigned in court yesterday, the 23 of May. He however denied the charges and was set free on a Sh50,000 bond.
