Makerere University finalist dies after electric shock at Naguru Barracks

A Makerere University student has died after he was electrocuted by electricity at Naguru Barracks.

The yet to be named victim was a son of AIP Okello Richard and a finalist at Uganda's oldest institution, according to Chimp Reports.

He was pronounced dead officially on arrival at Iran-Uganda Medical Center, a few meters from the barracks.

The accident happened when the student was reportedly ironing.

Preliminary reports indicate that the accident could have been caused by the 'poor electrical installations and illegal power connections'.

Police authorities haven't issued a statement regarding the incident at the Naguru Barracks.
