Kunihira told the Committee that in 2013, the board agreed to replace the then MD, Richard Byarugaba and his deputy Geraldine Ssali and interviews were conducted.

Although the two failed the interviews, Kunihira said the board got a presidential directive to reappoint them.

The Committee needs to know that there is no crisis at NSSF. This is just smear campaign that could be aimed ta removing the existing person and bring their own, or even switch the supervisory role from the gender ministry to the finance ministry,” Kunihira narrated.

Rwakajara informed the Committee that some of the mafias interested in NSSF are in the finance ministry and are willing to do whatever it takes to take over control of the entity.
