Musician Viboyo has reportedly been arrested by government detectives.

He allegedly used obscene words to several government officials, including President Kaguta Museveni and Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.

Authorities say "he abused several leaders and tribes in Uganda which is illegal" and was in hiding until his arrest.

Viboyo also allegedly called President Museveni "buttocks" in his new song.

The musician is being detained at Jinja Road Police Station on charges of offensive communication contrary to the Computer Misuse Act 2011.

We have tried to reach out to the Swangz Avenue camp but their publicist said: "For now there is nothing I can say".

He faces a fine not exceeding twenty-four currency points (480,000) or imprisonment not exceeding one year or both.
