Lawyer shot dead in cold blood
According to the Police, the event happened in the Wakiso district's Kitiko Birongo, Ndejje Division, Makindye Sebagabo.
Mukisa Ronnie, a 45-year-old attorney with IBC Advocates and a resident of the above-mentioned area, has been named as the victim.
It is said that Mukisa closed the gate after leaving his dark blue Subaru Legacy, registration number UBJ 006K, parked, and that the neighbours heard gunshots as he entered his flat. This prompted them to look into the ruckus.
According to statements made by witnesses, an unidentified person was seen shooting at Mukisa before briefly withdrawing, only to come back and repeatedly shoot him in the head at close range.
The attacker quickly rode off on a waiting motorcycle on an unknown route from the site.
Preliminary information indicates that Mukisa frequently arrives home late. However, on the night of the event, he arrived at the apartment parking lot at around 23:00, according to a statement from deputy spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police, Luke Owoyeaigyire.
Four projectiles and cartridges have already been found at Kajansi Police Station.
According to Owoyeaigyire, investigations are ongoing to learn more and determine the reason for this act.
This shooting comes against the backdrop of a series of shootings that have left some people dead. These include the deaths by shooting of former state minister for labour, employment, and industrial relations, Charles Okello Engola; renowned blogger and social critic Ibrahim Tusubira, aka Isma Olaxes; and Indian businessman Uttam Bhandari, among others.
