Lands ministry petitions Kulayigye over land dispute

The newspaper advert of the ministry in one of the local daily newspapers petitioning Kulayigye has been circulating on social media since yesterday.

This office received an application from Frank Tumusiime & Co. Advocates on behalf of Letshego Uganda Limited to cancel the mortgage of the Micro Finance Support Centre Limited under instrument No. WBU-00273927 on land comprised in Block 327 Plot 243 situated at Nakitokolo, Busiro, Sesebagabo Waksio district belonging to Brigadier Felix Kulayigye,” the advert reads.  

The advert alleges that Kulayigye obtained a special certificate of the land title mortgaged it to Letshego and thereafter mortgaged the duplicate one to the Micro Finance Support Centre Limited.

It is alleged Brigadier Flexi Kulayigye obtained a special certificate of title and thereafter mortgaged the same to Letshego Uganda Limited but later mortgaged the its duplicate to the Micro Finance Support Centre Limited despite the existence of the special certificate of the title,” the advert further reads.

While speaking to this reporter on phone, Kulayigye said someone else mortgaged the property to the Micro Finance Support Centre Limited without his knowledge.

The matter is being resolved. Someone mortgaged the property without my knowledge, but the matter will be resolved,” he told this reporter.

According to the advert, Kulayigye is supposed to appear for a public hearing about the matter on the 31st of January at the ministry headquarters in Kampala.
