Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported that there is not treatment for the consumption of the toxic wild mushroom.

Two people have had to receive liver transplants. People have been urged not to buy loose mushrooms and only purchase those packed and sealed in shops.

It is common practice to buy mushrooms on the streets of Iran.

Reports suggest that unexpected abundance of rainfall over the past month has led to more mushrooms growing than usual.

The culprit mushroom hasn't been identified yet but most experts theorise that it could be the poisonous Amanita phalloides which is also known as death cap.
