Jacob Omutuuze released from Dubai prison

On his arrest, officials in Dubai added that he was a Nigerian national whose passport had been blacklisted from entering the United Arab Emirates.

DJ Jacob had spent over three days detained when he posted about the incident on social media asking for help from the Ugandan embassy in Abu Dhabi as well as his friends and family.

In the Facebook post, he complained about starvation and poor accommodation facilities.

News reaching us indicates that his grievances were heard and he was flown into the country last night with the help of Uganda government officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
