In a recent interview, Lubwama said that while some musicians are better than him, Kenzo, real name Edrisah Musuuza, is not among them.

Interviewer: Is there a time you were the best musician in the country?

Lubwama: I don't want to be on top, because there are many who sing better than me. Mesach Semakula sings better than me.

Interviewer: There are many who are now better than you!

Lubwama: But there are many who are at my level!

Interviewer: Like who?

Lubwama: Am I not at the same level as Kenzo? Kenzo is my equal. [Laughs]. I can sing what Kenzo sings. Very well. That's why Kenzo is undermined, but he had melodies that young people resonate with. That's why kids enjoy his songs.

Who is Kato Lubwama?

A former Member of Parliament (Rubaga South Constituency; 2016 - 2021), Kato Lubwama is a drama actor, musician, songwriter, comedian, former radio presenter and businessman.

Publicly available information shows he was born in August 1970 and completed his Primary Seven in 1993 at Nabagereka Primary School.

He then joined Old Kampala Secondary School where obtained the Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E.).

From here, Lubwama did Special University Entry Examination at Makerere University, the same institution at which he obtained a Diploma in Music, Dance and Drama.

He is among people that have invested heavily in the arts industry, as he owns Royal Theater, which he started in 2010; Diamonds Ensemble, which he started in 1994; Image Africa, which he started in 1999; and B24TV.
