'I am Fire Baby' - Nwagi says she's ready to deal with bottle throwers

"It's good they've warned me ahead that they'll be hurling them at me," said Nwagi when she was told that some partygoers have vowed to throw bottles at her because she overreacted during the Masindi incident.

"I'm now ready."

Nwagi said that she won't fight them this time, but she will bring security.

"I won't throw them [bottles] back at the revelers because I'm not mad," she said.

"It's mad people who throw bottles... I'll start moving with security... I'll be ready with my security when I go to such venues."

While performing at an event in Masindi, Winnie Nwagi used a microphone to hit a reveler who used a rag he had used to clean the stage on her feet.

The incident prompted mixed reactions, with some siding with Nwagi and others saying she had overreacted.

Nwagi doesn't regret the incident.

"It was a dirty shirt, looking like a rag. He used it to clean the stage and then wanted to use it on my feet," she explained to newsmen.

"I can't leave home when I have showered and you claim that you are showing love by cleaning me with a dirty cloth... I found it disrespectful, uncomfortable and I lost it."

Winnie Nwagi said that she has always been upfront with people who try to disrespect her.

That there was a time she slapped a guy who tried to tap her butt while she was entering a taxi.

"If I'm disrespected in any way, I react. Sometimes I don't, sometimes I do. it depends on the mood," she said.

She said she won't change her dress code because of insolent revelers. That she'll only do it if people who hire her say so.

"I'm Fire Baby... my bosses have never discouraged me on my dress code. If they tell me to change, I will."

About a month ago on June 3, the Swangz Avenue artist was involved in another on-stage spat when she slapped a phone out of a man’s hands after she caught him recording her groin area.
