I am beyond battles - Juliana Kanyomozi
And while she does not blame artists of her age and caliber who are participating in music battles of late, Kanyomozi says at her current stage she feels she’s outgrown such contests.
“This business off who beats who, I think I am beyond that,” remarked the renowned pop artist last weekend.
“I am not at that level anymore. I am not trying to bring someone else down but I think personally there isn’t anything else I need to prove to anyone.”
Kanyomozi was asked by reporters about her take on last month’s battle between fellow legend Cindy Sanyu and Sheebah Karungi.
She surmised that the battle might have been more about money, and acknowledged that it indeed worked out well for the two artists.
“Battling is a money-making thing; it is a business,” she said.
“My two sisters; I am sure they are much richer now as we speak which is good. But for me, I think even age is another factor, some of us are now a bit laid back in that area,” she added.
Kanyomozi's remarks come amid high anticipation of another explosive battle between two greats Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool.
Last week reports came out that talks for this showdown are ongoing and that they are likely to be paid Shs. 2billion each by the organizers.
