Chameleone, Bebe Cool to get Shs. 2billion each for battle - Promoter
Mariam ‘Biggie’ Mutabukwa of Biggie Events came out this week to confirm herself as the prospective organizer of the clash between the two music titans.
“I think I am the only one who can handle that battle because the amount they want is a lot,” she said on Friday.
Mutabukwa revealed that talks are already underway between her and the two artists.
So far, she said, both Bebe Cool and Chameleone have asked Shs. 2 billion each for the battle, which amount she said she might be able to handle if she gets the right kind of sponsors.
“They said they want Shs 2billion each… I believe I can get the money with help from the sponsors. I will also do my part as well,” said the promoter.
Biggie Events organized Chameleone’s last major concert dubbed “Gwanga Mujje” at Lugogo Cricket Oval at the start of 2023.
Mutabukwa is relatively new in the music promotion industry. The February concert by the Loene Island boss was in fact her first major concert.
Asked this morning about the source of her money, she said it is through hard work.
She also dispelled claims that she’s working with a shadowy hand in Government.
“It is not that every hard-working person is being helped by the government. Sometimes it is just an individual effort; some of us take up big loans and use other means to be able to do great things but we never tell you about that,” she said.
On whether she would accept any support from the government to organize the music battle, she said she would be more than happy to.
The Chameleone-Bebe Cool battle was first proposed by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa.
