Konshens, a celebrated figure in the Jamaican music industry, flew into Kampala on Thursday morning, December 14.
During the meeting with Gen. Kainerugaba held on Monday, December 18, reports show that they discussed various opportunities for collaboration between the Jamaican and Ugandan music industries.
After the meeting, MK Movement News posted on X: “After the mega concert Blankets and Wine, today evening the Jamaican superstar Konshens before going to Entebbe Airport made a courtesy call to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and discussed strengthening the connection between two musical industries.”
Konshens, real name Garfield Spence, was in Uganda to headline the Blankets And Wine Festival on Sunday, December 17. The 38-year-old put on a great show for revelers who flocked to Lugogo Cricket Oval in large numbers.
Aside from him, the other performers were Jose Chameleone, DJ Etania Mutoni, Viana Indi, Vinka, and Elijah Kitaka among others.
Meanwhile, on arrival in Kampala, the Jamaican Dancehall artiste paid a visit to the grave of the late Ugandan singer Mowzey Radio in Kagga, Nakawuka, in Wakiso district,
Mowzey Radio, whose real name was Moses Ssekiboggo, passed away on February 1, 2018, following a tragic bar brawl.
Expressing her gratitude, Radio's mother, Miss Kasubo, welcomed Konshens and stated, "God keeps on strengthening me slowly by slowly. I am happy to know that someone comes from far and thinks about him (Radio). It gives me hope that people still think about me and my son."
Konshens also met some Ugandan singers, including Pallaso and Azawi.
