Former DP President Ssemwogerere 'fully conscious' after collapsing in church

Former Democratic Party (DP) President Paul Kawanga Ssemwogerere on Sunday collapsed during a church service at Rubaga Cathedral.

The 86-year-old apparently lost consciousness during the Kampala archdiocese day celebrations.

The current party president Norbert Mao has tweeted the latest updates on the prominent politician's health condition.
He says Ssemwogerere is "fully conscious and will be up and about soon".
He continued: "We thank those who continue to lift him up in prayer. We thank those who responded quickly to the emergency."
Ssemwogerere served as DP president for 25 years.
